16S/18S/ITS Amplicon Sequencing

16s 18s its amplicon metagenomic sequencing is a widely used method for the identification and differentiation of microbial species. Short hypervariable regions of conserved genes or intergenic regions—such as the 16S region of bacteria and archaea or the 18S/ITS region of fungi—are amplified by PCR and subsequently analyzed using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology. The resulting data can be applied to numerous areas within the field of microbial research.

5R 16S Amplicon Metagenomic Sequencing

5R 16s rrna amplicon sequencing for metagenomics is a microbiota analysis approach used in 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing for metagenomic studies. This method employs multiplexed PCR amplification and sequencing of five distinct regions of the 16S rRNA gene, improving coverage and reducing interference from host DNA during bacterial 16S rDNA amplification—particularly in tissue samples. As part of an advanced 16s rrna metagenomics workflow, it also incorporates a dedicated contaminant filtration process. Together, these features enable more comprehensive and accurate profiling of microbiota composition and function, even in samples with low microbial biomass and a high proportion of host DNA.

5R 16s rrna sequencing metagenomics Advantages

Longer regional coverage

Sequencing encompasses five regions of the 16S rRNA gene, covering about 68% of the total gene length

Identification of additional species

The extension of 16S rRNA gene coverage enables more precise identification of additional species

High detection sensitivity

The method is capable of detecting microbes in low-biomass samples, such as those derived from tumor tissues

High sample tolerance

This method is suitable for detecting organisms in degraded samples

Our Comprehensive Service

At LC Sciences, we offer a genome-wide microRNA expression profiling service utilizing a microarray detection system that was developed specifically for microRNA detection.  Send us your total RNA sample and we’ll perform all the necessary functions from sample QC through data analysis.  We can perform microarray analysis on a single sample to create a simple expression profile or we can hybridize two samples to the same microarray for “dual sample” analysis.  This is very useful whenever comparison of two samples is needed such as wildtype vs. mutant or samples treated in two different ways.

Our “Total RNA to Data” comprehensive service includes: Sample QC, Sample Preparation and Labeling, microRNA Detection (hybridization to a µParaflo® microfluidics chip), Array Scan and Data Extraction, and Full Data Analysis.

In about 2-3 weeks you will receive: original and processed scan images, array layout and a list of sequences,  raw and processed data, a list of differentially expressed transcripts (dual sample arrays only), and a summary of the results.

For more information about metagenomics vs amplicon sequencing, please feel free to contact us!

There are many rna seq service providers, but we are the best choice for you.

LC-Bio × 10x Genomics × Vitaura: Building the Data–Model–Experiment Loop for AI Virtual Cells

On September 24, 2026, LC-Bio Technologies (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. (“LC-Bio”), 10x Genomics, and Vitaura (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (“Vitaura”) held a signing ceremony in Hangzhou to formalize a three-party strategic cooperation agreement. The three companies intend to           jointly build a “data–model–experiment” loop around AI virtual cells (AIVC), establishing it as foundational infrastructure for drug discovery in the AI era.

The partnership is designed to address the central challenge facing AIVC — moving it from a frontier concept to real industrial application. 10x Genomics contributes world-leading single-cell and spatial omics technology as the source; LC-Bio brings AI-ready, standardized data capabilities as the foundation; and Vitaura supplies its AIVC modeling platform as the core engine. Together, the three intend to      co-develop data standards for AIVC. Results from every experiment will feed back into model iteration, shifting drug discovery from a trial-and-error discipline toward a predictive science that can be simulated before it is tested.

Opening Remarks: Charting a New Paradigm for AI Virtual Cells

At the ceremony, senior representatives from all three companies spoke in turn, assessing industry trends and each company’s core capabilities, and laying out both the value of the partnership and their plans for what comes next.

Julie Lang, Chairwoman and CEO of LC-Bio, said the ceiling of any high-performance AI model is set by the quality of the data behind it — and that the ability to produce high-quality data at scale and to a consistent standard is precisely LC-Bio’s irreplaceable advantage. The company has long applied the AI-Ready Data Infrastructure principle and has completed tens of thousands of single-cell projects and thousands of spatial omics projects, building an AI-ready, standardized data production capability that supplies high-quality training corpora for models of all kinds. The three parties will establish a standing collaboration framework that connects technology, experimentation, and modeling into a reusable pathway for drug discovery.

Ben Hindson, Co-Founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer of 10x Genomics, said”High-quality biological data are essential to building AI models that can reliably predict how cells and tissues behave. We are excited to work with LB-Bio and Vitaura to advance biological research and drug discovery.”

Ben Hindson, Co-Founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer of 10x Genomics, delivering remarks.

Xin Li, Founder of Vitaura, said: “Built on AURA CellOS, Vitaura has developed full-stack capabilities spanning data, models, AI agents, and closed-loop integration of computational and wet-lab workflows. Through this partnership, we will leverage our strengths in model training and algorithm development to turn experimentally generated omics data into AIVC models that can be trained, validated, and deployed in real-world applications. Going forward, we will combine our capabilities with 10x Genomics’ single-cell and spatial omics platforms and LC-Bio’s multi-omics data generation and research services. Together, we aim to establish an end-to-end workflow encompassing high-quality data generation, iterative model training, and application validation—accelerating the translation of AIVC from model development into deployable and verifiable tools that support real-world decision-making.”

Li Xin, Founder of Vitaura, delivering remarks.

After the ceremony, the core technical and management teams from all three companies moved into an in-depth working session to work through the details of the collaboration going forward.

Industry Significance

The launch of this three-party strategic cooperation marks a deep integration of frontier omics technology, high-quality omics data, and AI virtual cell models. AIVC is no longer merely a frontier concept — it is becoming foundational infrastructure for drug discovery, and a new frontier that has only just opened.
